Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi today mounted a scathing attack on the Trinamul Congress, TMC, and its chairperson and chief minister, Mamata Banerjee for her criticism of the Constitutional bodies like Election Commission, EC. <br/><br/>Addressing rallies in Krishnanagar and Kolkata this evening, Mr. Modi said, elections will come and go but the unfortunate tirade that Ms. Banerjee has launched against the EC will do irreparable damage to the Constitutional institutions and the nation. <br/><br/>Mr. Modi said had the TMC leader dealt with menacing problems of education, poverty and unemployment instead during her five year government, she would not have to throw such challenges at the Election Commission. He said, she is busy fighting with poll panel instead of taking on political parties as she and her party TMC had already conceded defeat.<br/><br/>Speaking on a report that State Chief Secretary Basudeb Banerjee had sent a reply to the Commission on its show cause to Banerjee, Mr Modi said, the Commission did not issue show cause to her as Chief Minister, it was issued to her as a TMC leader.<br/><br/>Taking a barb at the Congress-CPI-M alliance in Bengal and fight in Kerala, he said if voted to power the BJP will ensure annihilation of syndicate Raj and on camera sale of Bengal shown in the Narada sting to ensure development of the state and revive the lost glory of its capital, Kolkata.
