Prime Minister Narendra Modi today celebrated Diwali festival with Indo Tibet Bordar Police and Dogra Scouts of Indian Army at Sumdo situated at Indo-Tibet Border in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. Prime Minister was accompanied by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and the Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag.<br/><br/>The area is quite nearer to China border. It was surprising for everyone stationed there as no one has the information of Prime Minister's this visit. Prime Minister talked to jawans and praised their role in defending the motherland. Prime Minister also made unscheduled stop at Chango village, close to Somdu, to wish people on Diwali. Mr. Modi said he was deeply touched by the impromptu reception by the village people and their joy over his visit. <br/><br/>Mr. Modi spent more than 3 hours at Sumdo and Chango. BJP Member of Parliament Ram Swaroop Sharma said that it was a historic moment for the locals of the remote village adjoining China to interact with the Prime Minister. This is the first visit of any Prime Minister in this remote area.
