PM Modi meets BJP top brass over present political situation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited leaders of all major parties in Parliament for a meeting tomorrow morning. They were invited to have a discussion over smooth functioning of Parliament during the Budget Session beginning from 23rd of this month. Mr. Modi had a telephonic conversation with the leaders this evening in this regard.

The meeting is considered significant in the backdrop of virtual washout of proceedings in the last two sessions due to a host of issues. The government wants to push key reform bills like GST and labour laws in the ensuing session. However, sources maintained that it is not an all-party meeting and the bills the government seeks to introduce or pass in the session will not be discussed.
