PM Modi meets Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina in New Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today had a meeting with his visiting Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina in New Delhi. Ms Hasina met Mr Modi at his residence during a short trip of few hours to Delhi to condole the death of President Pranab Mukherjee's wife Suvra and attend her funeral. Mr. Modi thanked Bangladesh Prime Minister for her special gesture of visiting India to attend the funeral of Suvra Mukherjee.<br/><br/>Recalling his visit to Bangladesh in June this year, the Prime Minister thanked Hasina for the progress achieved in timely and peaceful implementation of the Land Boundary Agreement. He also welcomed the Bangladesh Prime Minister for signing of the BBIN Motor Vehicle Agreement and agreed to strengthen measures to increase regional connectivity.<br/><br/>Mr. Modi invited Prime Minister Hasina to visit India for an official visit at the earliest which was Prime Minister Hasina accepted the invitation.<br/><br/>Earlier in the day, Ms Hasina met President Pranab Mukherjee and offered her condolences on the demise of his wife.

PM Modi meets Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina in New Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday had a meeting with his visiting Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina in New Delhi. In a tweet, Mr Modi described the meeting as good. Ms Hasina met Mr Modi at his residence during a short trip of few hours to Delhi to condole the death of President Pranab Mukherjee's wife Suvra and attend her funeral.<br/><br/>Mr Modi had travelled to Dhaka recently and had held substantive talks with Ms Hasina. During that visit, the two countries had concluded the historic Land Boundary Agreement for exchange of territories held by the respective countries.<br/><br/>Earlier in the day on Wednesday, Ms Hasina met President Pranab Mukherjee and offered her condolences on the demise of his wife.
