On this occasion, Mr. Birla inaugurated a programme organized by the Parliamentary Research and Training Institute for Democracies in coordination with Ministry of Education and Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.<br />''<br />''As part of the programme, 99 young participants selected from schools and colleges from 28 states and two union territories witnessed the floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. Out of them 30 selected participants spoke about the contributions of our national leaders in the development of the country and reiterated the principles and ideals of their lives.<br />''<br />''Speaking on this occasion, Om Birla said that the philosophies, ideals and thoughts of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri transcend time and geographical barriers and will remain relevant forever. Mentioning the role of youth in nation's development, he said that country's youth with their wisdom, knowledge and skills are leading the world. Mr. Birla said, India has taken the pledge to become a developed nation by 2047 and the role of youth will be very important in this journey.<br />''<br />''On the occasion, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal urged the youth to dedicate themselves to transform the life of the poorest of the poor in the society. He also urged them to take the country forward on the path of Swachhata, Swadeshi and self-reliance which will be a true tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.</span><br />
