Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare J.P.Nadda has said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government in the Centre is committed for the upgradation and modernisation of health care institutions in Jammu and Kashmir.<br/><br/>Addressing a rally after laying the foundation of Government Medical College in the border district of Rajoouri in Jammu region today, Mr. Nadda said, this medical college will have 100 MBBS seats along with the hospital with the capacity of 300 beds. <br/><br/>He also informed that the Centre has been looking forward to establish two Cancer hospitals in the state soon. This medical college is one of the three medical colleges recently sanctioned by the Centre for Jammu and Kashmir. <br/><br/>Each of these colleges is to be set up at a cost of around 189 crore rupees. Minister of State PMO and local MP Dr. Jitendra Singh, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mebooba Mufti and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.<br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, Ms Mufti conveyed her gratitude to the Centre for the assistance to the State in health sector. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Jitendra Singh said, with the BJP led NDA rule in the centre, a new era of development has been initiated in Jammu and Kashmir.<br/><br/>Mr Nadda is also scheduled to lay the foundations of other two medical colleges in Anantnag and Baramula districts of Kashmir Valley later in the day.
