Prime Minister Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stone of the new capital of Andhra Pradesh at Amravati on the banks of Krishna River. Later, addressing a public meeting Mr. Modi said Amravati is soon going to be people's capital in the real sense. He said this will be a major step towards development of hundred smart cities in the country. The Prime Minister assured the people that the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act would be implemented in letter and spirit.<br/><br/>The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Garuda Shaped terminal at Tirupati airport built at a cost of 191 crore rupees. The airport can now handle 500 domestic and 200 international passengers at a time. It will have 18 check-in counters, 4 immigration counters and parking for 250 cars. Mr. Modi said all over the world, tourism sector is taking the front seat and is of great help to the poor to earn their livelihood. He said Centre is extending all help for the development of tourism.<br/><br/>Mr. Modi also laid the foundation stone of the Shri Venkateswar Mobile Manufacturing Hub at Tirupati. Spread over 122 acres, various Indian Mobile venders will set-up their campuses at the hub. It is estimated to generated 10,000 jobs within a year.<br/><br/>At his public address, the Prime Minister hit out at the Congress for the prevailing tension between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, saying Andhra Pradesh was divided because of hasty and self-serving actions of some people. Mr. Modi asked people of the two states to work in coordination for their betterment. Mr. Modi said be it Andhra Pradesh or Telangana, the soul is Telugu and both states must progress. He hoped that Andhra Pradesh would become a centre of economic revolution in the country.<br/><br/>Mr. Modi offered prayers at the Lord Venkateswar, the principal deity of Tirumala-Tirupati. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and several Union Ministers accompanied the Prime Minister.

Speaking after the inauguration Garuda Terminal of Tirupati Airport, a new integrated terminal of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) built at a cost of Rs 191 crore, the Prime Minister said all over the world, tourism sector is taking the front seat and it is of great help to the poor to make a livelihood out of it. Mr. Modi also laid the foundation stone of Sri Venkateswar Mobile Manufacturing Hub at Tirupati, which is projected to generate 10,000 jobs within a year.<br/><br/>Later Mr. Modi reached Tirumala to pay obeisance of Lord Venkateswara, the principle deity of Tirumala-Tirupati. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Union Ministers Venkaiah Naidu, Nirmala Sitaraman, Asok Gajapati Raju accompanied the Prime Minister.<br/><br/>Earlier Mr. Modi laid the foundation stone for the future capital of Andhra Pradesh amidst a galaxy of dignitaries, including Ministers from Singapore and Japan at a grand ceremony in Guntur district and addressed a public gathering on the occasion. He told to people of Andhra Pradesh that whatever has been discussed on development of Andhra Pradesh with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will be implemented. He assured that whatever is mentioned in the A.P. Reorganisation Act, will be implemented in letter and spirit.
