PM Modi launches Labour Inspection Scheme to end inspector raj

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched Labour Inspection Scheme to end inspector raj in the country. Launching it along with a series of labour reforms under Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Shramev Jayate programme in New Delhi, Mr Modi said, a computerized list of inspections will be generated randomly for labour inspectors.

The Prime Minister said, it will be mandatory for them to upload inspection reports within 72 hours. He said, the process will do away the cases of harassment and check arbitrariness in conducting inspections.

Mr Modi dedicated some other schemes including portability of account through universal account number for employee provident fund and a shram suvidha portal to facilitate easy filing of returns by industrial units.

He said, these steps exemplified his government's approach of minimum government and maximum governance.
In his address, the Prime Minister said, ease of doing business is also essential to ensure Make-in-India campaign become a success. He said, there is need to impart skill training to the youths to meet the requirement global workforce demand in the coming years.

AIR Correspondent reports, two other schemes, Apprentice Protsahan Yojana and revamped Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana are also being implemented under the Shramev Jayate Karyakaram.
