In Karnataka, campaigning for the assembly polls is in full swing. Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a mega campaign for the BJP in the state today. Mr. Modi addressed two public rallies at Ballari and Tumakuru.<br />''<br />''In the rally at Ballari, Mr. Modi accused Congress of supporting the terrorists. Mr. Modi said Congress is destroying the society by its appeasement policy. He questioned the silence of the Congress on the issue of terrorism and said only BJP can protect Karnataka. Mr. Modi also charged the Congress of building false narratives with fake surveys to distract voters. Calling the Congress' manifesto a bundle of shutdown and appeasement, Mr. Modi said the opposition party has spoken only about bans and sanctions in its manifesto. On the other hand, he claimed that the BJP's manifesto is a resolution statement. The Prime Minister said BJP is committed to make Karnataka the Number 1 state in the country. He also accused the Congress of promoting corruption in the state stating it has nurtured corruption since decades.<br />''<br />''Addressing a public rally at Tumakuru, the Prime Minister said the Congress has become a slave of vote bank politics. He said the Congress can not work for the development of Karnataka. Asking people to use their franchise with full care, Mr. Modi said each vote to JDS will be a vote for a weak and unstable government. The Prime Minister said the BJP has strengthened the rural economy by assisting farmers with various welfare schemes. He added through the Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the government has transferred over 2.5 lakh crore rupees into the bank accounts of the farmers. Party's national president JP Nadda addressed public meetings in Koppal and Kalaburagi today. Mr. Nadda also held a roadshow in Raichur. Union Minister Smriti Irani addressed a press conference in Bengaluru earlier in the day. She highlighted various welfare schemes promised by the party. Congress President Malliakarjun Kharge addressed public rallies in Yedrami and Afzalpur. Mr Kharge charged the BJP government of nurturing corruption in the state. He said that BJP has achieved nothing in the last nine years of its rule. He added that prices of essential goods have skyrocketed and unemployment is at an all time high.<br />''<br />''Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, in a tweet, said the BJP is a 40 percent Commission Sarkara and the people of Karnataka will give them only 40 seats. Congress leader and chief minister of Himachal Pradesh Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu addressed a press conference in Bengaluru. Congress spokesperson Pavan Kheda also addressed a press conference. He accused the BJP government in the state of corruption and said the poor were deprived of all the benefits. JD(S) supremo Deve Gowda addressed public rallies in Mandya and Chikmagalur districts today. He asked people to vote for JD(S) for the all-round development of Karnataka.
