PM Modi interacts with top global CEOs & business leaders in Washington DC

Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the top global chief executive officers (CEOs) and business leaders in Washington DC. Mr. Modi met with CEOs of First Solar, General Atomics, Adobe, Blackstone and Qualcomm.<br />''<br />''World's leading investment company Blackstone CEO Stephen Schwarzman said, India has been its best market for investment in the world. After meeting Prime Minister Modi, Mr Schwarzman gave details of Blackstone's investment in India and their plans to further ramp it up.<br />''<br />''Mr Modi said, there is huge scope for further expansion of Blackstone's partnership in India and elaborated on the reforms done in India. Prime Minister specifically spoke about asset monetisation and Bad bank. Calling India, one of the fastest growing countries in the world, Mr Schwarzman said, he is very optimistic about India's potential. He also appreciated that reforms undertaken by the India.<br />''<br />''General Atomic CEO Vivek Lall lauded India's policies and reforms in the field of drones. After meeting Prime Minister, Mr Lall said India's Space reforms are appreciated by one and all.<br />''<br />''During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi spoke about India's liberal drone policy and the opportunity in the field of manufacturing due to PLI scheme. Mr Vivek Lall also said, India is an attractive destination for manufacturing of drones. He also said, a dedicated drone hub can be created in India to support the entire eco system of drones.<br />''<br />''Prime Minister Modi and Mark Widmar, CEO of First Solar, agreed on enhancement of the manufacturing of Solar equipment in India. Mr Widmar expressed happiness over the Indian policies for climate change and related industries. Mr Modi spoke about One World, One Sun and One Grid initiative and its potential. He referred to India's ambitious target of 450 GW of renewable energy.<br />'' Emphasizing on India's focus on manufacturing for solar energy, Mr Modi said, companies in the field of solar energy can take maximum advantage of our Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes.<br />''<br />''The Prime minister also spoke about India's green hydrogen mission.<br />''<br />''Praising India, Mr Widnar said, all countries should emulate what India has done in climate change.<br />''<br />''Prime Minister Modi also had a good meeting with Chief Executive Officer of Qualcomm Cristiano Amon. Qualcomm has a huge presence in India, including R&D. Mr Amon has expressed enthusiasm to work with India on ambitious digital transformation programmes including in 5G, PM WANI and others.<br />''<br />''Mr Amon spoke about the incredible opportunities in India. He added that India is a big market and also a big export market. He said, it's the right time for India to not only manufacture for the Indian market but also plan to serve the need of other countries. Mr. Amon also expressed interest partnering with India to work in the field of semi-conductors.<br />''<br />''Prime Minister Modi assured Qualcomm that India will proactively work on the proposals made by them. Mr Modi stressed that India has the scale for ambitious projects. He said that India has prepared 5G standards and urged Qualcomm to actively participate as they did in case of NAVIK. The Prime Minister said that since Qualcomm has trusted Indian talent already, it can now trust Indian talent and start manufacturing with the advantage the PLI scheme offers. Mr Modi also spoke about the new liberalised drone policy and said that Qualcomm could take part in new opportunities in the new new emerging market.<br />''<br />''The Prime Minister also had a productive meeting with Chief Executive Officer of Adobe Shantanu Narayan. Mr Narayan appreciated the efforts of India in fighting COVID and particularly in the rapid vaccination. He expressed interest to contribute in India's 75th Anniversary of Independence. He also expressed desire to bring video, animation to every child in India. The Prime Minister said that bringing smart education to every child is important and that makes technology very important. He said that in the COVID era, the ground for digital education has been laid and there is a need to move forward now.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #000000;">Prime Minister Modi and Adobe CEO both emphasised on creating few centres of excellence in Artificial Intelligence in India. Mr Narayan also said, investment in India is company's secret weapon.</span><br />
