Prime Minister Narendra Modi had two interactions this afternoon immediately after his arrival in New York. The first interaction was with Mayor of New York Bill de Blasio followed by discussions with Nobel laureate on Medicine Professor Harold Varmus, Director, US National Cancer Institute. With Mr Blasio, he discussed the issues related to how he is trying to improve quality of life in New York.

As Mr Modi is extremely keen to improve Indian urban spaces, he focused his discussions on the issue of public housing , understanding that New York is going to build half a million houses.
