Khadi which once was a symbol of Nationalism, a weapon of Mahatma Gandhi's Swadeshi Movement had gone out of fashion with changing times. Barring a few, majority people turned away from this Indian cloth. But, the appeal by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year not only inspired people to come back to Khadi but also give impetus to fashion industry to come up with new fashions in Khadi. On the day of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, it was vividly seen on the streets.
