Prime Minister Narendra Modi and visiting Thailand Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha are now holding delegation level talks in New Delhi. During the talks, the two Prime Ministers are expected to discuss wide range of issues including defence, security, science and technology and improving people-to-people contacts. <br/><br/>Trade and attracting investments from Thailand are also on the agenda. India will seek Thai participation in its Make-in-India initiative. Earlier in the day, Thai Prime Minister was accorded ceremonial reception at the forecourts of Rashtrapati Bhavan. He also laid a wreath at Rajghat. <br/><br/>India and Thailand have strong economic synergies and the diversifying profile of growing bilateral trade and investment reflects the growth and maturity of the interaction between the two economies. <br/><br/>Bilateral trade in the last 15 years has actually grown eight times and currently nears eight billion dollars. Tourism has been an important element in building closer people-to-people contacts. About 10 lakh Indian tourists visit Thailand every year while about a lakh tourists arrive from Thailand to India.
