Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said, Indian Ocean region will have a very important role for world peace, progress and prosperity in future. ””Addressing media jointly with visiting French President Emmanuel Macron after delegation level talks in New Delhi on Saturday, Mr Modi said, both India and France have a very long history of bilateral cooperation in defence, security, space and high technology. ””Prime Minister Modi said, India and France are committed to deepen their cooperation in environment, maritime security and resources as well as freedom of navigation and overflight. ””The Prime Minister said, the mutual logistics support between the armed forces of India and France is the golden chapter in the history of defence cooperation of the two countries. ””He said, the two countries are releasing a Joint Strategic Vision on Indian Ocean region on Saturday. ””Speaking on the occasion, French President Emmanuel Macron described terrorism as a threat to peace and said there is a need to promote peace in the world. ””He said, India and France have decided to work together to deal with threats of terrorism and radicalization.””He appealed India to become his country's first strategic partner as the two countries have same vision. ””The two countries signed 14 agreements in various fields of cooperation including nuclear energy, environment, narcotic drugs and people to people ties.
