Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his best wishes for the holy month of Ramzan. <br />'' &nbsp;<br />'' In a tweet, Mr Modi said, Ramzan gives an important message of serving the needy and underprivileged. <br />'' &nbsp;<br />'' He said, it also reaffirms the importance of equality, brotherhood and compassion.&nbsp; <br />'' &nbsp;<br />'' The fasting month of Ramzan has begun across the country from today.<br />'' &nbsp;<br />'' The worshippers offered special night prayers called &quot;Traweeh&quot;, on a reduced-scale last night adhering to Covid guidelines while in states under&nbsp; lockdown and curfew restrictions, peoples offered prayers at their homes.<br />'' &nbsp;<br />'' Several Muslim clerics and scholars have appealed to Muslims to follow Covid norms and protocols during Ramzan issued by the government.<br />'' &nbsp;<br />'' Ramzan is the ninth month of Islamic calender and Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated at the culmination of this month. <br />'' &nbsp;<br />'' In Kerala, holy month of Ramzan began yesterday.&nbsp;<br />
