PM Modi embarks on two-day Russia visit tomorrow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to Russia tomorrow. Mr Modi will attend 16th Annual Summit meeting on Thursday. President of Russia Vladimir Putin will host a private dinner in the evening after Mr Modi lands in Moscow where the two leaders will hold talks on issues of mutual concern.<br/><br/>Briefing media in New Delhi this afternoon, Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar told reporters that Prime Minister's visit to Russia is aimed at further expanding the special and privileged strategic ties with a particular focus on nuclear energy, hydrocarbons, defence and trade. <br/> Even in the winter chill in Moscow there is lot of excitement among youngsters for Mr Modi's visit. AIR spoke to Indian students there to know how they feel about the visit. Leena Sareen who is pursuing her PhD in Moscow says people are excited to see Indian Prime Minister. <br/><br/>Snigdha studying economics says it is always good to see our own Prime Minister in another country. Virender Singh an engineering student who hails from Siwan in Bihar says Bollywood is one of the connecting factors in strengthening Indo-Russian relationship.
