Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated to the nation INS Kalvari, the first of the six Scorpene-class submarines, at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai today.<br/><br/>Terming it as a historic achievement, the Prime Minister congratulated the Navy on the country's behalf. He called it an excellent example of Make-in-India.<br/><br/>Mr Modi also said, India is playing an important role in combating terrorism via sea, piracy, drug smuggling or illegal fishing. He calling the 21st century as Asia's century adding that its development would have to go through India. <br/><br/>The Prime Minister coined the acronym SAGAR as 'Security And Growth for All in the Region'.<br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, INS Kalvari will be an invaluable asset to the Navy.
