Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the farmers, the poor, youths and women are the pillars of developed India and his government is all committed to empowering them. Addressing the 'Viksit Bharat, Viksit Gujarat' programme through video conferencing on Saturday, the PM said it is the constant endeavour of the government to reduce the expenses of the middle class and poor and eradicate poverty. He said the government is planning to set up Solar Rooftops in over 1 crore households in the country in the first phase to reduce the power bills of the middle class. Through this initiative, the people will not only be able to get 300 units of free electricity but also can earn from selling the excess electricity.<br />''<br />''The PM reiterated his government's commitment to provide houses for all. He said, Modi's guarantee means a guarantee of fulfilling the promises. Saying that a developed state can lead to a developed India, Mr. Modi urged the countrymen to join hands with the government in eradicating poverty from the country and achieving the vision of a Developed India by 2047.<br />''<br />''The PM also praised the achievement of Gujarat in the implementation of PMAY and other housing schemes. During the programme, the PM virtually dedicated and laid the foundation stone of over 1.3 lakh houses across Gujarat built under PM Awas Yojana and other housing schemes. The programme was organised at 182 places in the state covering all the assembly constituencies and witnessing the participation of around 10 lakh people including the beneficiaries of various schemes.
