PM Modi Congratulates Sheikh Hasina on Election Win, Vows Stronger India-Bangladesh Ties

<span style="color: #0f1419;">Prime Minister Narendra Modi today congratulated the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina on her historic victory for the fourth consecutive term in the Parliamentary elections. In a social media post, Prime Minister Modi said that he spoke to his Bangladesh counterpart. He also congratulated the people of Bangladesh for the successful conduct of elections. Mr. Modi said that India is committed to further strengthen the enduring and people-centric partnership with Bangladesh.<br />''</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, speaking with foreign journalists and election observers at Ganabhaban in Dhaka, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, India is a great friend of Bangladesh. She recalled New Delhi's support to Dhaka in 1971 and also in 1975 and referred to her period in exile after the killing of her father Sheikh Majibur Rahman and other family members. Sheikh Hasina said, Bangladesh consider India as its next-door neighbour and both have a wonderful relationship between them.</span><br />
