Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Indian men's and women's Kabaddi teams for winning World Cups. In his message, Mr Modi said, they have made the country proud. While Indian men's team clinched the fifth Kabaddi World Cup title, the women's side bagged the crown for the fourth consecutive time. Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has announced to double the prize money for Women's World Cup from existing one crore rupees to 2 crore rupees. Addressing a gathering at the closing ceremony of the tournament which was held at different places in Punjab, Mr Badal said the state government has decided to bring the prize money for the women kabaddi team at par with that of men's teams participating in the next edition of the World Kabaddi Cup.
