PM Modi concludes his US visit

After completing his week-long visit to Ireland and the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on his way back home. In his departure message, the Prime Minister thanked the American people for their warm hospitality. He said in a tweet that he met many world leaders to strengthen India's ties with the global community. He also said that his visit to US demonstrated the extra ordinary depth of relationship between the two countries.<br/><br/>Yesterday, on the final leg of his tour, Mr Modi held bilateral meetings with US President Barack Obama, French President Fran'ois Hollande and his British counterpart David Cameron in New York.<br/><br/>Addressing media after meeting the US President, Mr Modi said, the two countries agreed to further deepen cooperation on counter terrorism and radicalisation. He said, India has also sought US support to complete the UN Security council reform process within a fixed time frame while thanking it for its support for India's bid for permanent membership.<br/><br/>Mr Modi also addressed the Leaders' Summit on Peace-keeping at the UN headquarters. He announced India's contribution to UN Peace Keeping operations. Mr Modi said, India's commitment to UN Peace-keeping remains strong and will grow.<br/><br/>The Prime Minister also sought the help of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in locating the 39 Indian citizens held hostage in Iraq and some others in Libya.
