On the last day of the 9th BRICS summit today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in Dialogue of Emerging Market and Developing Countries at Xiamen. <br/><br/>Host China has invited leaders from five other emerging markets and developing countries- Egypt, Guinea, Mexico, Tajikistan and Thailand under its BRICS plus approach for the dialogue.<br/>'<br/>Bilateral meetings are also planned between Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on the sidelines of the summit. After bilaterals, Mr. Modi will depart for Nay Pyi Taw on his second and last leg of two nation visit.<br/>'<br/>Earlier yesterday, Mr. Modi held bilateral meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Brazilian President Michel Temer on the sidelines of the summit. <br/><br/>Mr. Modi and Mr. Putin discussed situation in Afghanistan and several aspects of bilateral relationship. They had also discussions on cooperation in the oil and natural gas sector and trade and investment. With Brazilian President Michel Temer, Mr. Modi discussed a partnership based on a common global vision and shared democratic values.<br/>'<br/>In his address to the BRICS Business Council yesterday Mr. Modi said India wants BRICS Business Council to help achieve the common objective of improving business and investment cooperation among BRICS countries. <br/><br/>Prime Minister said that India is changing fast into one of the most open economies in the world. He said Foreign Direct Investment inflows are at an all-time high, rising by 40 per cent and India has moved up in the World Bank Index of Ease of Doing Business. <br/><br/>Similarly, it has moved up 32 spots in last two years in the Global Competitiveness Index. Mr Modi said, the Goods and Services Tax introduced in July this year is India's biggest economic reform measure taken ever which has unified a market of 1.3 billion people with a single stroke. <br/>'<br/>Earlier yesterday, in BRICS summit, BRICS leaders called for a comprehensive approach to combat terrorism. During this naming the Pakistan-based terror groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba LeT and Jaish-e-Mohammad JeM as terror outfits by the multilateral forum was a big win for India's campaign against terrorism emanating from Pakistan. <br/><br/>In the declaration of 9th BRICS summit at Xiamen, leaders have expressed concern on the security situation in the region and violence caused by the Taliban, ISIS/DAISH, Al Qaeda and its affiliates including Eastern Turkistan Islamic Movement, Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, the Haqqani network, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad, TTP (Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan) and Hizb ut-Tahrir.<br/>'<br/>BRICS leaders have signed four documents during Xiamen summit. The documents are BRICS Action Agenda on Economic and Trade Cooperation, BRICS Action Plan for Innovation Cooperation (2017-2020), Strategic Framework of BRICS Customs Cooperation and Memorandum of Understanding between the BRICS Business Council and the New Development Bank on Strategic Cooperation.<br/><br/>
