PM Modi chief guest at BHU convocation today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is now visiting Banaras Hindu University. He will be the Chief Guest at the Centenary Convocation of the BHU. Mr Modi will deliver the Convocation address. On the occasion, more than 400 students will also be awarded with Medals for their outstanding performance. During the ceremony, a divyang girl student Pankhuri Jain, who topped in BSC math honors course, will also share the dais with Prime Minister.<br/>Earlier this morning, Mr Modi visited the Sant Ravidas temple at Seer Govardhanpur to offer prayers on the occasion of the 639th birth anniversary of the social reformer. He was accompanied by union cabinet Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot and Minister of state Vijay Sampla. He had langar(prasad) at the temple. Mr Modi also had a chat with temple trustees. Thousands of followers of Sant Ravidas are visiting seer Govardhan today.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the Chief Guest at the Centenary Convocation of the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) today. Mr Modi will deliver the Convocation address. On the occasion, more than 400 students will also be awarded with Medals for their outstanding performance. During the ceremony, a divyang girl student Pankhuri Jain, who topped in BSC math honors course, will also share the dais with Prime Minister. Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani, BHU Chancellor Dr Karan Singh and other dignitaries will be present on this occasion. Mr Modi reached Varanasi last night. This year BHU completed its 100 years.<br/>Before taking part in the Convocation programme, Mr Modi will visit the Sant Ravidas temple at Seer Govardhanpur to offer prayers on the occasion of the 639th birth anniversary of the social reformer. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is also scheduled to arrive Varanasi today. He will visit Sant Ravidas temple and take part in programmes being organised.
