Prime Minister Narendra Modi today cancelled his scheduled visit to his parliamentary constituency Varanasi. President of BJP's Uttar Pradesh unit, Laxmikant Vajpayee said the Prime Minister's visit was cancelled because of the death of one labour under 'unfortunate circumstances' in Varanasi. This is the second time Prime Minister's visit to Varanasi was put off in about a month's time. The earlier visit could not take place due to inclement weather in Varanasi.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, heavy rain lashed Varanasi since last midnight. He was scheduled to launch Integrated Power Development Scheme, IPDS aimed at providing affordable, reliable and round the clock power supply to urban areas. The Prime Minister was also scheduled to lay the foundation stone for Varanasi ring-road phase-one and also to inaugurate the super specialty trauma centre and hospital at Banaras Hindu University. It has been raining heavily in Varanasi since last night.
