PM Modi calls for strengthening India, Russia coop in several areas

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for strengthening India and Russia cooperation in the areas of diamond cutting and polishing, dairy production and the automobile sector. Mr. Modi today received the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dimitry Rogozin in Gandhinagar on the sidelines of the Vibrant Gujarat meet. During the meeting, the Prime Minister welcomed increasing Russian investment in various states of India observing that the 70 year old bilateral relationship is on an upward trajectory. Mr. Modi also offered his condolences on the dastardly killing of the Russian Ambassador to Turkey and loss of lives in the recent air crash of a Russian airliner. <br/><br/>Sources said the two leaders held discussion related to various areas of the India-Russia strategic partnership including the Rosneft's investment in the Vadinar refinery and cooperation in the automobile sector. Both the leaders also discussed continuing progress in the civil nuclear energy sector. On the occasion, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister conveyed special greetings of President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. The Deputy Prime Minister is heading a delegation of over 60 persons including from various Russian provinces.
