Prime Minister Narendra Modi today bowed to the people of the country for steadfastly supporting the several measures taken by the government to eradicate corruption and black money. <br/><br/>On the completion of one year of demonetization, Mr Modi termed it as historic and multi dimensional success. In a series of tweets, Mr Modi said, 125 crore Indians fought a decisive battle and won. <br/><br/>He said, over 23 lakh bank accounts with 3.6 lakh crore rupees are under suspicion. Prime Minister said, the demonetization also led to 26.6 per cent increase in the number of new tax payers from 66.5 lakh in 2015-16 to over 84 lakh in 2016-17. He said, number of digital transactions stands at 138 crore against 87 crore in August last year. Mr Modi has asked the people to share their feedback on demonetization on the Narendra Modi App.
