Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his first election rally in Kerala, today said NDA should be voted to power to bring development to the state. He urged the people to give NDA a chance to rule the state, while addressing the rally at Fort ground in Palakkad. <br/><br/>Prime Minister has said, BJP has only one aim, which is development of the country and asked the voters to experiment with NDA to eradicate poverty, unemployment and arrest price rise.<br/><br/>Mr Modi highlighted what his government has done for Kerala in the last two years. Recalling the days the BJP government intervened to bring Kerala nurses from war-torn countries, like Yemen, Prime Minister said, the government has not slept during those days. <br/><br/>He said the government didn't sit idle during the terrorist attack in Yemen. Steps were taken to bring the Indians back home. The priest who was abducted by Taliban in Afghanistan was rescued after nine months, he said. The nomination of Richard Hey and Suresh Gopi, from Kerala to the Rajya Sabha show the Centers concern to the state Prime Minister added. <br/><br/>Mr Modi recalled the recent fire works tragedy in Kollam when he rushed to the city with a team of doctors. Prime Minister alleged that the Congress and CPI (M) have been taking turns to loot the state over the last 60 years. Modi also criticized CPI(M) for the recurring political violence in Kerala.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has criticised Prime Minister Modi for flaying the UDF-led Kerala government over the brutal rape and murder of a Dalit woman. He alleged it was "cheap politics" made with an eye on the May 16 Assembly elections. The minister said a person who is holding such a high office should not have made such comments.<br/><br/>Chennithala made his strongly-worded rejoinder in a Facebook post, barely hours after Mr. Modi attacked the Chandy government, in his election rally at Palakkad.
