PM Modi asks BJP MPs to campaign against black money in country

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked the BJP Members of Parliament to campaign against black money in the country, saying there is a need to encourage people for adopting digital and cashless economy. Addressing the BJP Parliamentary party meeting in New Delhi, Prime Minister criticized opposition parties for their continued obstruction in Parliament over implementation of demonetisation and condemned the political parties for not allowing debate in both the Houses over the matter. <br/><br/>Addressing media after the meeting, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar quoting the Prime Minister said, Mr Modi has thanked people of the country for their support for demonetization process. Mr Kumar said, BJP Parliamentary Party also passed a resolution hailing people for their support to demonetization. Another resolution was also passed to ensure smooth functioning of both the Houses. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, opposition parties met in Parliament and decided to continue with their demand of Prime Minister's presence during debate on demonetization in the Rajya Sabha.<br/><br/>Parliamentary Affairs Minister said, the government has made it clear on several occasions that the Prime Minister will speak on the issue in both the Houses but the opposition parties are creating ruckus as part of their political agenda. Ananth Kumar alleged that the Congress and the TMC members are stalling proceedings of Parliament even as the government is willing to hold discussion on demonetization issue.<br/><br/>The BJP Parliamentary Party meeting also condoled the demise of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and noted Journalist Cho Ramaswamy.
