Prime Minister Narendra Modi today announced an immediate package of Rs.745 crores for reconstruction of flood damaged houses and hospitals. Of this Rs. 570 crore have been announced for reconstruction of damaged houses while Rs. 175 crore have been announced for reconstruction of six major Hospitals of Leh, Jammu and Kashmir.

Prime Minister assured people of Jammu and Kashmir that entire nation was behind them at this hour.

AIR Correspondent reports, the Prime Minister said that he has come to Srinagar today to meet affected people to know their demands and problems adding that Government will extend all help to people for their rehabilitation.

He said there was a demand from some political parties that relief should be provided to the affected people directly.

The Prime Minister said that Government will consider this demand very seriously. Mr. Modi said Centre has received a demand from the state government which is under verification.

He said the people of the state should not feel left alone adding entire nation is with the people of the State.

He said government will do everything for the rehabilitation of flood affected people. Mr Modi said the Centre has already announced Rs 1000 crore package for the flood affected people.
