Congress today alleged that India's liberal democracy is under assault of forces who believe in a kind of uniformity which is unacceptable to country's pluralistic society. Briefing media in New Delhi today, party spokesperson Anand Sharma alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a tacit endorser of environment of intolerance which is incited by his colleagues. <br/><br/>He asked what prevents the Prime Minister to remove members of his Government or take action against those leaders making objectionable comments. He said the ruling party is diverting attention from main issues of agrarian crises and economy by making outrageous statements. <br/><br/>Mr Sharma also hit out at BJP for raising questions on Shahrukh Khan's patriotism and love for nation. He said Shahrukh Khan is an icon of cosmopolitan India and has the right to speak his mind as a citizen for which his patriotism cannot be questioned.
