Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah and several other senior leaders have appreciated Supreme Court judgement on triple talaq. Prime Minsiter Modi has termed the judgement on Triple Talaq as historic. In a tweet, he said, the judgment grants equality to Muslim women and is a powerful measure for women empowerment.<br/><br/>BJP President Amit Shah has hailed Supreme Court verdict on triple talaq saying it will herald a new era of dignity and equality for Muslim women. In a statement, Mr Shah said triple talaq is not in existence even in many Muslim countries. He said it is not a question of winning or losing, but is matter of fundamental rights of Muslim women.<br/><br/>Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has expressed satisfaction over Supreme Court judgment on Triple Talaq. He said, government will not come under any pressure and is committed to discontinue the practice of Triple Talaq in the country.<br/><br/>Welcoming the judgement, Congress leader Kapil Sibal said it protects personal laws and at the same time deprecates the practice of Triple Talaq.<br/><br/>Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi has welcomed the judgment of the Supreme Court on Triple Talaq issue. She said it is an important step in paving way for equality and protection of women.<br/><br/>Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore has expressed satisfaction over Supreme Court verdict that set aside the practice of triple talaq among Muslim community. Talking to media persons in Kota, Rajasthan today, he said every woman irrespective of cast and creed needs her constitutional rights protected and the verdict will go a long way in this direction.
