Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Vijaypur in Samba district of Jammu & Kashmir where he is now addressing an election rally. Later today, he will be visiting Srinagar to address another election rally at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium. Unprecedented security arrangements have been put in place for the visit of the Prime Minister. Srinagar city, especially the venue of the rally has been virtually taken over by the security forces. CCTV cameras have been installed inside the stadium while SPG personnel will monitor activities of the crowd with binoculars and the top police officers have also been given the job to monitor the proceedings of the rally.
According to sources, people attending the rally, would be frisked at half a dozen places before they enter the Stadium. BJP National Secretary and in charge of the PM’s rally, Tarun Chug said that they are expecting a large number of people to hear the Prime Minister. AIR Correspondent quoting a state BJP leader, reports that the Prime Minister, before addressing the election rally in Srinagar, will visit the local army headquarters to pay tributes to the soldiers who laid down their lives while repulsing the militant attack in Uri.
