PM Modi addresses valedictory function at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration; says, biggest goal of 21st century for India is to become modern and self-reliant

<span style="color: #222222;">Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the main objective of the nation is to modernize itself and to be self-reliant. He said that The eyes of the whole world are on us, in the circumstances created by COVID-19, new world order is emerging and India has to develop itself at a faster pace. <br />''<br />''Addressing virtually the Valedictory Function of 96th Common Foundation Course at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA),  the Prime Minister asked the Probationers to keep the goals of 21st century India in mind, the goal of building an AtamaNirbhar Bharat, and the goal of laying the foundation of a New Modern India.<br />''<br />''Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister said that this batch of Trainee Officers was special as it was beginning its work on the 75th year of the nation's independence, and they would be responsible for the development of the nation over the next 25 years. Addressing the Officer trainees, he said that Sardar Patel's vision of service and duty is the most important part of training. He said that as long as they are in service, the yardstick of their service should be the principles of service and duty. He said if they work with principles of duty, they will not find any work burdensome. <br />''<br />''Quoting Mahatma Gandhi, Mr. Modi said that if even one decision of theirs, helps in the betterment of the last person in the society, they should not hesitate to take that decision. He said that they have to take Reform, Perform and Transform to the next level. He said 'Sabka Prayas' is very important and always leads to a positive result. He said that it was very important that the challenges which make development difficult are identified. Mr. Modi said that identification of these challenges is very important in order to solve these problems.<br />''<br />''Mr. Modi congratulated the trainee officers on completing their course. Mr. Modi also greeted the people of the nation on the occasion of Holi.<br />''<br />''The 96th Foundation Course is the first Common Foundation Course at LBSNAA based on the principles of Mission Karmayogi, with new pedagogy and course design. The batch comprises 488 trainee officers from 16 services, and 3 officers from Bhutanese Royal Services (Administrative, Police, and Forest).<br />''<br />''To harness the adventurous and innovative spirit of the youthful batch, new pedagogy guided by the principles of Mission Karmayogi was designed. Emphasis was put on transforming the Officer Trainee from a student /citizen into a public servant through initiatives like interaction with Padma Awardees in the spirit of  "Sabka Prayas" and village visits for an immersive experience of rural India. Officer Trainees also visited villages in remote/border areas to understand the challenges faced by people living in these areas. Modular approach for Curriculum was adopted in consonance with the principle of continuous graded learning and self-guided learning. In addition to health tests, fitness tests were also carried out to support the transition of an 'exam burdened student' to a 'healthy youthful civil servant'. All 488 Officer Trainees were given first-level training in Krav Maga and in various other sports.<br />''<br />''The Prime Minister also inaugurated and dedicated a new sports complex and a revamped Happy Valley Complex to the country.
