PM likely to visit violence-hit Muzaffarnagar tomorrow

The Prime Minister is likely to visit violence affected areas of Muzaffarnagar tomorrow. PMO sources said in New Delhi that Dr. Manmohan Singh will make an on-the-spot assessment of the situation. He will also visit hospitals where the injured are admitted.

Dr. Singh is expected to discuss the situation with UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, who visited many riot hit areas in Muzaffarnagar and Shamli including Kaval, Malikpura, Shahpur and Kandhla. The Chief Minister also visited two relief camps where thousands of people rendered homeless in the violence have taken shelter. Mr Yadav directed the concerned officials to provide all relief and help to the victims. He announced that kin of every deceased person in recent violence of Muzaffarnagar will be given government job.

Meanwhile, the State government today suspended the already shifted SSP of Muzaffaranagar, Subhash Chandra Dubey. A home department release said in Lucknow that a departmental action has also been ordered against him for his failure to check the violence in time.
