President, Vice President and Prime Minister have greeted the nation on the occasion of Onam especially to the people of Kerala. In his message, President Pranab Mukherjee said that the festive occasion of Onam marks a joyful completion of human efforts, with a prayerful optimism for the future. He said that Onam celebrations by people of all hues underline the secular fabric of our society.

Vice President Hamid Ansari expressed hope that this festival will bring prosperity and harmony in the country.

In his message, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh said Onam, celebration of life, marks the secular traditions of Kerala. He expressed hope that it will bring happiness and prosperity to all.
