Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to expand his council of ministers soon.
AIR correspondent quoting sources reports that the expansion is likely to take place on Sunday a day before Prime Minister leaves for a tri-nation tour to attend ASEAN and G-20 Summits.
The names of Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, former Congress leader from Haryana, Chaudhary Birendra Singh, BJP General Secretary Jagat Prakash Nadda, party vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and former Union Minister Suresh Prabhu, are making rounds for ministerial berths.
It will be the first expansion of the Modi government since it came to power in May.
Speaking to reporters in Goa on Thursday, Mr Parrikar said that the party has given him green signal to accept any new assignment, if offered.
He, however, said it is prerogative of the Prime Minister to whom he inducts.
