PM leaving for S Arabia tomorrow on 3-day state visit

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh is leaving for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia tomorrow on a three days official tour. He is being accompanied by Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Minister of state for External Affairs and a number of senior officials.<br/><br/>Briefing the media about the visit in New Delhi today, the Secretary, (East), MEA Ms. Vijaya Lata Reddy said during the visit, the Prime Minister will have substantive discussions with King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz.<br/><br/>She said several Saudi ministers will call on the Prime Minister during the visit. She said, Dr. Singh has also been invited to address the Shoura Council which is a unique honour bestowed upon select dignitaries.<br/><br/>Replying to queries from the media on the visit, Ms. Reddy said that since the landmark visit of King Abdullah to India in 2006, both countries have had 19 ministerial visits so far which, in turn, have stepped up the momentum of the bilateral ties. Answering a question on counter-terrorism, she said India will take up all issues that concern it during this visit.
