The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh left for South Korea this morning on a four-day official visit. He will hold bilateral discussions with President Lee Myung-bak. Dr. Singh will also attend the two day 2012 Seoul Nuclear Security Summit beginning Monday.
In his departure statement, the Prime Minister said India has been an active participant in carrying forward the Nuclear Security Summit initiative.
He said, his visit provides ample opportunity for exchanging views with World Leaders attending the Summit.
The Prime Minister said, the Seoul Summit will review actions that countries have taken to strengthen Nuclear Security since the first summit held in Washington in 2010.
Regarding bilateral ties with South Korea, Dr. Singh said, strategic partnership is an important pillar of our Look East policy.
