Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh today laid the foundation stone of the Unified Campus of the Acharya Jagdish Chandra Bose Institute in Kolkata. The new campus will bring all departments and research activities of the institute under one roof. It is likely to be fully operational within next two years.
AIR Kolkata correspondent reports that the campus would come up with an investment of Rs 100 crore rupees.
Director of the Institute Prof. Shivaji Raha briefed the Prime Minister about the project.
Those present on the occasion included West Bengal Governor, MK Narayan, Union Minister of Science and Technology Bilasrao Deshmukh and several other Ministers of the West Bengal government.
