The Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has launched Mobile Number Portability service in New Delhi. The service will allow mobile subscribers to change his service provider without changing the number. This will give rise to genuine competition, leading to an improvement in the quality of service of telecom companies. Mobile Number Portability service was launched in Haryana last November.
