Prime Minister Narendra Modi today promised easy and effective governance to enable ease of doing business to make India an industrial hub.
Launching Make in India campaign in New Delhi, Mr Modi said, India ranks low on the ease of doing business and he has sensitized government officials in this regard.
Mr Narendra Modi invited global investors to tap investment potential in India and not to look at the country merely as a market but see it as an opportunity. He assured them that their capital will be safe and they will not lose their money in the country.
The Prime Minister said, the government has been able to reverse the pessimistic environment that forced businessmen to leave India.
He said the biggest factor to attract investment is to create an atmosphere of trust and government has taken many initiatives in this regard.
Mr Modi said FDI is an opportunity for global investors and for the people of India, it is First Develop India.
Mr Modi said, Make in India is not a political agenda but an article of faith. The Prime Minister said, the Centre and the States should work as a team in seeking investments as development of States is development of India.
Speaking on the occasion, Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, government wants to make India a global destination for manufacturing.
She said government is determined to push the share of manufacturing in GDP to 25 per cent from the present 15 per cent. She said government has identified 25 sectors in which India can become a global leader.
