The Prime Minister has launched 11 schemes of the Gujarat Government under the Swavalamban Abhiyan to promote self-reliance in the youth, women, workers and artisans.
Launching the schemes at Gandhinagar today, Mr Narendra Modi said, there is a need to help the weaker sections of the society most for the overall development of the country.
Mr Modi said, the spirit of entrepreneurship among women is admirable in Gujarat and it can be seen in the dairy sector of the state. Mr Modi also congratulated the state government for taking pro-poor steps through these ambitious schemes.
Under the Swavalamban Abhiyan schemes, financial support will be provided to women cattle breeders from the tribal communities to procure milch cattle and equipment.
Support to construction workers for treatment of occupational diseases and interest subsidy for construction and warehouse on the farmlands are the main highlights of the schemes.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister of Gujarat Anandiben Patel said, poor people will be the main focus of the schemes.
