<br/>Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded Rajya Sabha Chairman Mohammed Hamid Ansari for his valuable contributions in conducting the proceedings of the Upper House during his 10-year-long tenure. <br/><br/>Speaking on the farewell occasion of Mr Ansari, Mr Modi said his diplomatic experience has benefited the members a lot. The Prime Minister also said Mr Ansari worked day and night for the betterment of the country and his contribution has been invaluable. <br/><br/>Earlier, Leader of House Arun Jaitley described Mr Ansari a distinguished diplomat and distinguished Chairman of the House of Elders. He praised the way he conducted the proceedings of the House. He said Mr Ansari's advices to political fraternity is a different experience altogether.<br/><br/>Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad recalled that Mr Ansari was very close to former Prime Minister Late Indira Gandhi by being her hardworking Chief of Protocol. <br/><br/>Mr Azad said Mr Ansari has taken everybody into confidence in the Jammu and Kashmir issue.
