Nepal’s Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal has resigned. He tendered his resignation to President Ram Baran Yadav on Sunday evening. In his resignation letter, Mr Khanal said he has resigned to pave the way for the formation of a consensus government, moving the peace process forward and to facilitate constitution drafting. His party CPN-UML has supported the move. AIR correspondent reports Mr Khanal will address the Parliament today.
