PM invites people's ideas and suggestions; Launches official portal to empower citizens

Prime Minister today invited people to give their views, suggestions and ideas to contribute towards Surajya. Mr Narendra Modi launched government's official portal namely-MyGov that empowers the citizens to send their suggestions so that functioning of the government can be improved. The web address for the portal is–http://mygov.nic.in.

Launching the portal in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, the success of democracy is impossible without participation of the people.
Stating that in the past, there was a huge gap between the people and the processes of governance, Mr Modi said, in the last sixty days, it was felt that there are many people who want to contribute towards nation building.

The Prime Minister expressed confidence that people will welcome the initiative and invited the suggestions to strengthen and improve the portal. He hoped that everyone would join hands through this platform to take the country forward and meet the aspirations of the poorest of the poor. Mr Modi said he looks forward to receiving suggestions, views and ideas of the people.

AIR correspondent reports, the platform-MyGov- gives an opportunity to the people to discuss issues and also suggest ways how to execute them. The shared ideas will be discussed on several forums, which will allow constructive feedback and interaction.
For those who wish to go beyond discussions and wish to contribute on the ground, the portal offers several avenues to do so.

Citizens can volunteer for various tasks and submit their entries, which will then be reviewed by other members and experts. Once approved, these tasks can be shared by those who complete the task and by other members on MyGov.
