Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated Speaker's Research Initiative (SRI) in Parliament House Annexe so that the parliamentarians get expert advise from domain experts to develop a better perspective on issues and subjects under consideration of Parliament. <br/><br/>Praising Congress MP Shashi Tharoor for a recent speech at the Oxford University, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of effective arguments in a debate. Mr Modi lauded the effort of Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan. The programme will be an interactive platform where the MPs will interact with the experts. <br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said this would be an interactive process where the Members will also give their feedback and their valuable suggestions. <br/><br/>Ms Mahajan said the SRI would have three facets- expert led presentation of factual details on specific issues as may be requested by Parliamentarians, Speaker's internship programme and Speaker's fellowship programme.
