Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh laid the foundation stone of the unified academic campus of the Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose institute in Kolkata today. Director of the Institute Prof. Shivaji Raha briefed the Prime Minister about the function of the organisation.

Later, Dr. Singh had a press interaction with researchers of the institute. Union Minister of Science and Technology, Mr. Biilasrao Deshmukh, West Bengal Governor Mr. MK Narayanan were also present at the function.

AIR Kolkata correspondent reports that the new campus will come up with an investment of Rs 100 crore to facilitate all academic activities and research work under one umbrella.
