PM impressed upon people to generate confidence among themselves

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday impressed upon the people to shed despondency and generate confidence among themselves.

Addressing the countrymen over All India Radio for the first time to reach out to every nook and corner of the country, the Prime Minister exhorted citizens to be a part of the development journey.

He said, everyone should join hands with the government to take the country to newer heights. In his 15-minute address programme 'Man ki Baat' , Mr. Modi sought to motivte people to recognise their capabilities and use them. The Prime Minister said, 125 crore Indians are blessed with immense skill and strengths.

Advocating the need for use of khadi products as a homage to Mahatma Gandhi, Mr Modi impressed upon the people to use at least one khadi product. He said, it will benefit the poor and lit the lamp of prosperity in their life.

Promising to make the radio broadcast a regular affair at least once of twice in a month on Sunday at 11 A.M, the Prime Minister invited ideas from the citizens.

He said, he had been receiving a number of suggestions since it was announced that he would be addressing the nation over radio.

Mr Modi also used the oportunity to convey his greetings of Vijaya Dashmi to the people and urged them to take pledge to spread the message of cleanliness.
