PM holds review meeting with EAC to discuss economic issues

<span style="color: #222222;">Prime Minister Narendra Modi is holding a review meeting in New Delhi with Economic Advisory Council to discuss economic issues. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and members of the council are among those attending the meet. The meeting is likely to discuss issues including the fall in rupee, increasing petrol and diesel prices and a larger current account deficit.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and other officials to review the state of the economy. During the meeting RBI governor gave a detailed presentation about the condition of world's economy and external factors which can affect Indian economy.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Government announced an array of steps to check the rising Current Account Deficit (CAD),<b> </b>and the fall in rupee<b>.</b> The steps include removal of withholding tax on rupee denominated bonds known as Masala bonds issued till March next year, relaxation for Foreign Portfolio Investment (FPI), and curbs on non-essential imports.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />''
