The Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh met the British Prime Minister Mr Gordon Brown about two hour ago before proceeding to the Lawrence Convention Centre for the G-20 Summit plenary meeting. The two leaders discussed issues of mutual interest. The G-20 meeting officially got underway on Thursday with a welcoming ceremony.<br/><br/>AIR Special Correspondent Esther Kar reports that Pittsburgh saw unprecedented security as the world leaders who represent 85 per cent of the world’s GDP and two -thirds of humanity have for the Summit. Police were out in larger numbers patrolling on bicycle, foot and horseback, by river and by air. <br/><br/>On Thursday police fired sound cannon and burst tear gas shells to stop a group of protesters marching towards the convention Centre. While some of them were demanding green jobs, others were protesting that 20 leaders cannot determine trade policies for four to five billion people.<br/><br/>The newly elected Japanese Prime Minister Mr Yukio Hatoyama and Australian Prime Minister Mr Kevin Rudd also met the Prime Minister on the sidelines of the G-20 Summit.
